Spina Verde Regional Park covers the hilly strip in the north-west of Como. The territory is characterized by several interesting aspects: nature - with particular geological and vegetational features, archaeology - with the rests of the proto-historical town of Como - and history - from the medieval Baradello Castle to the recent trenches of Sasso di Cavallasca. Also the several places of worship - from the finds dating back to the ancient pre-Roman and Roman rites, to the Sanctuaries (among which the Basilicas of St. Carpoforo and St. Abbondio), to the places linked to traditional events, like the small Church of St. Rocco in Cavallasca and the Cross of St. Eutichio - identify Spina Verde as the privileged seat for religious culture expressions.
