White Truffle

Among the truffle species that can be found in Bologna provincial territory, the so-called "Tartufo bianco Pregiato dei Colli Bolognesi" is particularly appreciated. Its characteristic production areas are Savigno, Camugnano, and Castel di Casio. The Municipalities belong to the National Association Città del Tartufo, the most important national association promoting all the aspects of the Italian truffle: cultivation, sale, safeguard of the territory, and enhancement of the gastronomy.

The scented white truffle, together with many varieties of local products like mushrooms, marroni chestnuts, wine, cheese, sausages, and honey, is the protagonist of "Tartufesta", a festival with performances and cultural and recreational activities, but above all with events dedicated to wine and gastronomy, held every year in the 15 Municipalities of Appennino Bolognese.
