The hike starts on the left shore of Lake Suviana, opposite the hydroelectric station at Bargi, near the "Fonte dell'Amore", taking you down the left shores of the lake until you reach the bridge that connects to the shores of the Limentra di Treppio Stream at Mulino dei Sassi, along trail CAI 155.
Once across the Limentra, the route begins to climb towards the village of Stagno, passing through a beech and chestnut forest.
Past the medieval town, the trail continues to Belvedere and Capravecchia and then up to Mount Stagno, where a stunning vista over the Limentra Valley and Lake Suviana awaits you. Continue along the old forest road into the Brasimone Valley and head down to Ca' Fontana del Boia and then on to Barbamozza, where you leave trail CAI 155 to join trail CAI 011.
From Barbamozza the trail takes you to the Mount Baigno ridge and then to the fields above the village of Poranceto, nestled in a centuries-old chestnut grove that you can reach along a short detour (CAI 011).
Continue downhill on the right on trail CAI 039, across vast grasslands where you'll see stunning orchid blossoms in late spring and hear the impressive bellows of stags in the fall, until you reach the La Guardata locality near the dam at Lake Brasimone.
