Taro Regional Park develops between Fornovo and Pontetaro. The Park protects over 20 km of river, covering an area of 3,200 ha, out of which 900 ha of pre-park. In over 3,000 hectares, it jealously guards many natural treasures of the old fluvial landscape. Unfortunately, elsewhere many of them have been lost, while others have been ruined. This protected area was established by Italian Regional Law 11/88. Its aim is to safeguard the different environments created from the water by hollowing out the wide gravelly river bed.
