The forest of the monks... biological variety and medieval landscapes at a stone's throw from home. The woodland represents in the territory of Forlì the most significant relict of vegetation linked to the decalcified gravelly and sandy soils of post-glacial palaeoconoid. It is a discontinuous strip of land including, among the other regional protected areas, Boschi di Carrega in the area of Parma and Bosco della Frattona in the area of Imola. The forest covering, even if simplified and not very extended, is referable to an acidophilus oak woodland consisting of Turkey Oaks and Sessile Oaks, with White Hornbeams and Flowering Ashes.
