The reserve has some structures equipped for people with disabilities.
Blind people can walk along a flat trail where they will find 10 stations equipped with braille panels explaining the naturalistic features of the sites: some of them focus on olfactory or tactile sensations, while in others the sound of the sea evokes the coastal landscape.
For people on the wheelchair there is a special place in the huts where they can observe the birds populating the ponds; the trails are kept well to avoid inconveniences.
Macchiatonda Regional Nature Reserve is open to guided visits and bird watching activities with the following opening times:
Thursday afternoon, Saturday, and Sunday
entrance 9.30 a.m./9.45 a.m. - exit 12.30 p.m.
entrance 2.30 p.m./2.45 p.m. - exit 5.00 p.m.
Except some days during which the access to the Nature Reserve is reserved to guided visits on payment.
