The recreational area of Savochello-Monte Cammarata is situated in a wonderful pinewood provided with a playground for children and able to welcome 300 visitors. To reach it, follow the road leading from Santo Stefano di Quisquina to Cammarata. Once you get to the state forest called Ledera, as marked by specific signs, take the one and only road leading to the summit of the mountain. The area is also equipped with toilets, barbecues, bicycle itineraries, and nature trails.

The Great Spotted Woodpecker lives in the woods and nests in holes hollowed out in the trunks of the trees. It uses its strong and pointed beak to perforate the bark looking for the insects it eats in the summer.

The Wild Service Tree is a plant that can grow as a shrub or a tree (it can reach 10m of height). It has developed strategies according to which it can adapt to difficult environmental conditions and can colonize harsh and rough areas, like on Mt. Cammarata.
