The Rio Bragna basin, a right-hand tributary of the Tanaro river, covers an area of about 10 square kilometres, at an altitude between 130 and 350 meters a.s.l., with a prevalent north-south trend. Here the rocks are mainly clays and clayey marls, with local chalky formations and conglomerates, dating back to the Upper Miocene - Middle Miocene. There are small oak woods and specimens of black alders, scattered along the entire river flow, mainly located at the bottom of the main watershed.
