Itinerary A (The Valley)

It is a 1,800-meter long itinerary which can be gone through on foot; it starts from the courtyard of the Visitor Center and it runs along the northern border of the fishing valley, following backwards the new cycling path coming from Grado.
In the first part, leaning out on a wooden balustrade, it is possible to sight within the sheets of water shaping the valley several species of birds which feed in the low waters or rest on the sandbanks.
Following the cycling path you will often see several ducks in the small basins surrounded by the cane-brake and you will reach the Prati del Luseo, where grayleg geese - the symbol of the reserve - live.
The itinerary ends when you reach the bridge over the Canale del Primero; from here you will enjoy suggestive views, both towards the interior of the valley and towards the lagoon of Grado, and it is also possible to observe, near the sluice gate controlling the water level the rests of the old "Lavoriero" made with canes, a traditional system to catch the fish which has been breeded in the valley.
