The Visit to the Reserve
The Reserve is situated in the territory of the Municipality of Morino.
The visit is made easier by a series of welcome structures and services, such as the Visitor Center, the Welcome Center, three picnic areas, a manège, a campsite, the trails, and an information and first-aid point.
Once
you get to Morino, you can go ahead and reach the country hamlet of
Grancia, where you will find the Visitor Center, with a floor dedicated
to a naturalistic-anthropologic Museum which will open soon, but
where you can already observe the dioramas of the beechwood and of the
human activities in the wood, besides exhibits on the
environments of the Reserve.
An entire hall of the Museum will be
dedicated to the cycle of water, while a diorama will illustrate a
rupestral environment.
Near the Visitor Center, along the river, on an old preexisting
structure, the Welcome Center has been created: it is provided with
seventy beds, restaurant, and conference hall.
The visit to the Reserve is also promoted by the presence of picnic areas, each one with fire points and a parking area for 300 visitors. They are all situated along the perimeter of the protected area: Piazzale dello Schioppo, in front of the homonymous waterfall, La Fossa, with refreshment point and access to trail no. 6 leading to Valle dell'Inferno; Piano Sacramento, with refreshment point and access to trail no. 5 leading to the highest peaks of the Reserve and to the hermitage of S. Maria del Cauto.
The campsite offers the possibility to stay in tents or in caravans, while the presence of a manège gives the opportunity to have a horse ride in the surroundings, or a trekking of several days in the mountain areas of the Reserve and in the adjacent areas.
