For the Design Weekend held in Bern (January 27th/28th, 2007), carpenters and artists coming from Binntal Landscape Park created a larch-wood collection. The exhibit continued until mid-February at ANLIKER, in Bubenbergplatz, in front of the central railway station. The event was enriched by minerals displays and local cooking specialties.
The larch has always been an important wood for the Municipalities of the Landscape Park. Mühlebach even includes the one and only town in Switzerland entirely built with larch wood. Today, the ancient producers operating in the Park love combining tradition with innovation.
One fourth of the territory (3,792 ha) is covered with forests. Therefore, wood is a raw material with a regional importance. For this reason, in the three Park Municipalities - Binn, Ernen, and Grengiols - wood industry is still alive.
