This regional state property includes the Bibbona State Reserve. The forest area had been widely exploited during the reign of the grand dukes to provide the Royal Ironworks of Cecina - where iron was smelted - with the necessary firewood. What we can see today is a large area covered with forests and maquis, with valuable landscape, plant and faunal aspects.
Holm oak forests, together with other trees and high maquis prevail in this area.
There is a widespread network of nature itineraries which can be covered on foot, on horseback or by mountain bike. Furthermore, there are a botanical trail for blind people, which can be also used by people with mobility disabilities, and an archery trail.
