The violet eggplant comes from Casalese area, in particular from Frassineto Po and Villanova Monferrato: it has a cylindrical or slightly oval shape and a purple violet color with whitish streaks, while the pulp is white, with seeds when it is ripe. It is transplanted in the field in April/beginning of May; harvesting begins in July and ends in September. Afterwards, in the agricultural farmstead, the product is washed and packaged in wooden boxes.
