Itinerary theme: the modern city, seen from the river
The itinerary follows the Po's left bank, and gives the opportunity of admiring some of Turin's most important places of the XIX-XX centuries. The point of departure is Le Vallere Park (Corso Trieste 98, Moncalieri): from there, go east and reach the Po, then turn left (north). From this point on, always follow the river; its banks are covered with vegetation at first, and then progressively clearer. Past the Sangone stream, the road runs along the large SMAT plants, which treat Turin's drinkable water, and the UN international campus, and leads to Millefonti park. Go past the Automobile Museum and Città della Salute (the hospital district), and under the Balbis Bridge, where you can see the offices of the Italian Sailors Association, and part of the hull of the submarine Provana. After the Isabella Bridge, the itinerary ends by the Fountain of the 12 Months and the Medieval village, at Valentino Park.
The way back is along the same route.
