This itinerary crosses the fertile Carignano plain, scattered with several groups of farmsteads.
In the northernmost stretch of the route, the towns of Casalgrasso and Pancalieri are characterized by a highly-specialized agriculture and by the cultivation of mint. In its northernmost section, the town of Carignano is rich in works of art, especially baroque, including the unusual cathedral.
In Carignano you will also find G. Rodolfo Museum, preserving objects from ancient times to modern times. The pearl of the itinerary is situated halfway: it is Valinotto Sanctuary, a beautiful baroque building in the middle of the countryside, by Vittone.
The itinerary, developing on the left of the river Po, represents an alternative to the main cycle itinerary running along the right bank of the river.
