Geological Itineraries Liguria
The guidebook, within the series "Itinerari Geologici Liguria" including three volumes dedicated to as many itineraries in the territories of Aveto, Portofino, and Beigua Parks, suggests a fascinating journey to discover the area of Beigua Park, the largest protected area in Liguria, recently recognized by UNESCO as European and world "Geopark".
An itinerary consisting in fifteen different stops, described and illustrated in order to better understand the geological, geomorphological, paleontological, mineralogical, and geo-archaeological features, as well as the naturalistic, historical, and cultural features. An itinerary rich in curiosities leading to discover and interpret the small "treasures" of the Geopark, faithful evidences of time and precious indicators of the great "geodiversity" of our region.
The creation of this geological-didactic itineraries and their promotion through the publishing of this guidebooks has been promoted by the Environmental Department of Regione Liguria in order to enhance the importance of the local geodiversity and the particular landscape value which represents the main tourist attraction of the territory, as well as its intrinsic fragility and exposure to natural risks.
