According to the agricultural census, there are about 150 ha of vineyards in the Municipalities of Capriano, Flero, and Poncarale, divided among 113 professional and family-run holdings.
The DOC surface area covers 52 ha, most of which in the Municipality of Capriano del Colle.
The DOC vineyard distribution follows closely the proportions fixed in the specifications, with a prevalence of Sangiovese and Marzemino among the red grapes and Trebbiano Toscano (or Lugana) among the white grapes. The other vines include other varieties like Chardonnay, White Pinot, and Cabernet.
Thanks to the features of the soil and the favorable exposure, it is possible to obtain very pleasant wines like White Capriano del Colle or Trebbiano, Capriano White wine, Capriano del Colle Novello, Capriano del Colle Rosso, Capriano del Colle Riserva, a full wine, charming, rightly tannic, with an excellent and elegant structure, to drink with roasts, tasty red meat, and the traditional spit of Brescia.
