Almost concealed among the rocks and vegetation of Monte di Capaccio Vecchio, the ruins of the homonymous castle dominate the plain of Paestum underneath.
Climbing up here means discovering a piece of history of Cilento, leading us back to the conspiracy of the barons against the powerful Frederick II, tragically ended in 1246. But it also means to stop and admire an enchanting landscape opening like a huge amphitheater where nature blends with human presence, particularly evident in the squared fields, the towns, the roads, and the channels crossing the plain.
Here, a few courageous people take off with their hang gliders to observe the landscape, like the birds populating the cliffs of these mountains do.
