The Oglio Sud Park, the Oglio Nord Park, the Mountain Community of Valle Camonica - Parco Adamello, the Mountain Community of Sebino Bresciano signed in February 2013 a memorandum of understanding aimed at enhancing the Oglio river cycle path. Four important signatures for a challenging plan, for promoting a route that runs from Tonale to the Po, along the Oglio and the Lake Iseo: 280 kilometers of cycle paths, from Passo Del Tonale, croissing the Valle Camonica, Lake Iseo and a stretch of Pianura Padana in the final part of the river Oglio, up to the Po.
Partners of the Oglio Bike Tour Project are the GAL Valle Camonica Val di Scalve and GAL Oglio Po.
The Oglio Bike Tour wa the winner of the first award "Italian Green Road Awards".
The award ceremony took place in Verona on Saturday 16 February 2019 as part of the "Cosmo Bike Show", the International Bicycle Exhibition; MARTINA CAMBIAGHI, Council member for Sport and Young People of the Lombardy Region, collected the award, in the presence of the Park and Mountain Communities administrators that are interested in the Oglio Bike Tour.
The award recognizes, first of all, having believed in an ambitious project, pursued by a united team despite many difficulties.
We are also aware that there is still a lot to do, but this victory has generated the right enthusiasm to continue to work started several years ago.
