The Park includes the lower plain part of the river Oglio, going from the border with Oglio Nord Park to the confluence with the river Po, including the provinces of Cremona and Mantua. In this stretch, the river winding course crosses the rural plain between high embankments. The landscape is heavily shaped by the human presence and is often monotonous, with an ordered succession of cultivated areas interrupted by tree lines following the irrigation network. Marginal wetlands rich in natural vegetation and aquatic fauna can be found in the flood plain along the river.
