The Reserve lies a few kilometers in the north of Pieve S. Stefano, a
town situated along the toll-free motorway E45 connecting Perugia with
Cesena. From
Arezzo, you can reach Pieve S. Stefano along SS 71 to
Bibbiena and SP 43 to Anghiari or along SS 73 to
Sansepolcro. From Pieve, it is necessary to go ahead in direction
Cesena (SS
3/bis "Tiberina") and, afterwards, follow the road signs to
Valsavignone and, at the junction, to Cerignone. The road, which
becomes a dirt road in the last stretch, leads to this town and
continues up to Le
Gualanciole, where the Reserve Visitor Center and a Mountain Hut for
hikers will open soon. You will reach then the homonymous Pass,
crossroads of several itineraries. Alternatively, you can also cross
Valle
Santa, reaching from Bibbiena the town of Biforco, from which an easy
dirt road ("strada del Doccione") quickly leads to Gualanciole Pass.
Pieve S. Stefano and Valsavignone are connected with Sansepolcro with
Baschetti bus lines and with the town of Arezzo with SITA bus lines.
