Abstract
The second volume of the "Quaderni del Centro Studi per le Reti Ecologiche" (Publications of the Study Center for the Ecological Networks) collects the proceedings of the meeting "Bentornato lupo" that was held in Pettorano sul Gizio (AQ) on 23rd August 2008.
The publication includes the speeches by Mauro Fabrizio from Monte Genzana Alto Gizio Nature Reserve, Vittorio Ducoli from Abruzzo National Park, Paola Morini from Sirente Velino Regional Park, Federisco Striglioni from Gran Sasso Monti della Laga National Park, Simone Angelucci from Majella National Park, and Beatrice Ricottili from the State Archive of Sulmona. The speakers of the various protected areas describe their own management experience regarding the wolf, providing data on the populations of the carnivore and discussing the present and future prospects of the species. Moreover, it includes a historical treatise on the wolf by Beatrice Ricottili, mentioning the documents dating back to the 19th and 20th century.
