Following the SP road to Costa Rey, at Riu Trottu, we reach the beach of Punta Molentis. The beach is surrounded by the characteristic Mediterranean maquis consisting of juniper (Juniperus phoenicea), Montpelier rock rose (Cistus monspeliensis), and lentisk (Pistacia lentiscus), enriched by the tamarisk offering shelter to partridges and wild rabbits. A granite quarry, already existing in the second half of the 19th century, dominates the clear tongue of sand characterizing the beach. From there, we can follow the sandy beach and reach a small dock where the small fishing boats of the local fishermen moor. Here we can stop in the small granite house next to the dock, once shelter of stonecutters and miners, and now a place where fishermen can rest and work with their nets. Going ahead, we will reach a small rocky promontory characterized by the curious shapes of the granite rocks shaped by the sea.
