F.I.A.S.P. track trail of Mt. Rufeno has a total length of 14.100 km and develops along a ring-route. Leaving from SP Ponte Gregoriano-Allerona, it follows for 3 km the road leading to the entrance no. 2 of the Nature Reserve, where the most demanding uphill stretch of the path begins. After about 900m, you will touch Casale Sambucheto; leaving the Casale on the right, after a green iron bar, go ahead along the uphill stretch until you reach the ruins of a farmstead called "Porta di Ferro". When the woodland gets less thick, around km 5, you can enjoy a beautiful view over the town of Acquapendente and the area of Mt. Amiata. After crossing some pinewoods, the uphill stretch ends, and you are halfway. A flat stretch begins at this point: the path, developing on the northern slope of Mt. Rufeno, enters a chestnut woodland ending in a junction. Turn right and follow the downhill stretch of about 1 km up to Fosso del Gambero.
After 300m, at the end of a short uphill stretch, there is the reconstruction of an ancient coalsman's hut; continuing for further 400m, you will find a straight stretch leading to the entrance gate no. 3. Beyond this, take the long dirt downhill road for over 3 km and reach the asphalt road. Turning right, you will reach the finish.
