The route leaves from Casale Monaldesca and runs along the SP road to Trevinano. After a panoramic stretch of about 3 km along an asphalt road, it enters the green heart of the Nature Reserve up to the ford of the stream Tirolle, where the uphill path leading to Casali Poici and Poggiogattuccio leaves. Immediately after reaching Poggiogattuccio, take the Park carriage road turning left: here an uphill path begins, characterized by long straight stretches lined with Turkey oak woodland and conifers. After a rather demanding uphill stretch, turn left to Casale Tigna, where you will take a short stretch of the Path of the Brigands.
Before reaching entrance no. 6, turn left and take the uphill stretch leading to Poggio di Villalba (700m asl). After the bar delimiting the border between Monte Rufeno Nature Reserve and the territory of Umbria, you are in Selva di Meana Nature Reserve, at 50m from the junction leading to the departure point.
