Since 1970, Torricchio mountain area is a strict nature reserve managed by the Department of Botany and Ecology of the University of Camerino. In these decades it has been crossed by Italian and foreign researchers from its slopes to the mountain summits: they have studied it with particular attention as an object for research activities and scientific experiments.
