The cycle-pedestrian lane is one of a kind because it allows people to reach the Rosandra - Dolina Glinščice valley and its wild nature directly departing from Trieste's town center. On foot or by bike it is an easy itinerary suitable for all to reach Kozina or Bottazzo-Botač.
The route follows the former Trieste-Hrpelje (Erpelle) railway, which was active between 1887 and 1959, and was dismantled in 1966.
Even if they have been used for other purposes, some of the original stations and railway facilities have been preserved, such as the galleries dug in the rocks, so that the itinerary is very interesting from the perspective of industrial archaeology too. Read more (Italian text)
