Environmental Education or Education to Sustainable Development represents a way to discover the environment and interact with it, considering it as a complex entity generated by the interaction of physical, biological, historical, social, and individual elements. From 1998 to 2012, the Nature Reserves Office, in association with teachers, companies committed in the local territory, freelancers, and associations, has been developing an Environmental Education program including refresher courses for teachers and projects carried out in collaboration with schools. Summer camps for young people are currently organized through the Visitor Centres of the Nature Reserves, along with spring initiatives for the knowledge of the protected areas (even for adults).
