In Carnia some fruit distillated drinks can be found: the most famous one is Sliwovitz, produced with plums. Distillates are also prepared with different fruit varieties, like pears or cherries. Another traditional product of Carnia is grappa, to which juniper, gentian roots, wild berries, and cumin can be added.
