This woody area lies at the confluence of torrent Degano with river Tagliamento.
For about two kilometers, the conifers characterize on the left bank the last stretch of the tributary and of Tagliamento, covering an area of about 60 hectares. The most charming area is without a doubt the most ancient one, the area closer to the town. Some brooks heading for Madonna del Ponte make this section of the wood more varied and pleasant.
The most beautiful description of the pinewood has been written by Michele Gortani, who in 1914 wrote a text dedicated to it.
