The route in a few words

From Taranto we will enter Murge, and specifically Parco dell'Alta Murgia from Gravina in Apulia (Altamura) and will leave it in Spinazzola.
After about 6 days we will get to Barrea and cross Parco Nazionale degli Abruzzi in the south-east.
Through Rivisondoli, we will enter Parco della Majella in Pescocostanzo, and will leave it in Popoli after about 4 days, walking along the mountains of Morrone in the east (snow conditions permitting).
Afterwards, we will enter Parco dei Monti della Laga e Gran Sasso at Campotosto Lake (State Reserve) and leave it in Arquata del Tronto after about 5 days.
From here we will enter Parco dei Monti Sibillini and leave it in Norcia, and we will go ahead from Chiusi della Verna to Muraglione Pass and S.Godenzo nel Mugello, crossing Parco del Monte Falterona e delle Foreste Casentinesi.
The subsequent stretch will include the crossing of Parco dell'Aveto from Bocco Pass to Barbagelata.
Finally, we will get to Piemonte, in the area of Alessandria, following the Fluvial Stretch of the River Po to Molino dei Torti; then, in Parco Naturale della Valle del Ticino, we will pass to the Piedmont bank of the river near Oleggio and Varallo Pombia.
We will turn then to Varese Lake and Porto Ceresio. We will continue our journey in Switzerland, to the north in the direction Bellinzona- S.Gottardo-Schwyz-Costanza.
Here the German stretch will begin: it will be the longest one and will entirely develop along E1 trail, which will lead us to the Danish border, near the town of Flensburg. We will take then the E6 trail which, alternating trekking on the Danish islands and stretches by boat, will lead us to Malmo, in Sweden, from where we will follow E6 again up to Stockholm.

The Laps (Italian text)

Have a Nice Journey!
Laura Meneguzzo and Ligeia Lugli are respectively 31 and 25 years old.
After many years of experience in long-distance paths (they are FIE members), they have decided to take on a long journey on foot leading them from Apulia to northern Germany and maybe, weather permitting, to Sweden.

They left on 16th April 2005 from Taranto, and Parks.it will constantly follow them, publishing the reports they will send us from the various laps.
